I’m so glad you are studying the Bible instead of just reading it and that you are bringing others along with you in your journey. This is what I do too because I also found that the Bible in a year plans were overwhelming and served to check the box instead of giving me a better understanding of God and His Word. The Biblical narratives can often be read in larger chunks but so much of the Bible meds to be ingested in smaller bites I think.

We are going through the book of judges right now. So I study a passage each week then teach it on YouTube and podcast and write a blog post that pertains to it all for my free substack subscribers. Then I offer the written lesson to my paid subscribers. Everyone is comped in for the first week and they have access to the previous lessons over Deuteronomy, Joshua, and Judges then get a new lesson each week as they are published. I fell in love with the Old Testament years ago but found that since most people try to read it and don’t really study it they find the non-narrative parts difficult. So I’m on a mission to help others love the Old Testament. My hope is that by taking it slow, they’ll understand the New Testament so much better and learn so much more about God that they’ll fall in love too while also learning to pull more out of it by themselves. I look forward to getting in the New Testament with you too though. Thanks.
